Braces straighten teeth by putting steady pressure on your teeth and by staying in place for a certain amount of time. Most people just need regular braces with wires and rubber bands doing their jobs to keep pressure on the teeth. The wires on your braces help to move your teeth, and the rubber bands help to correct the alignment of the teeth.

Some of the common habits that can be encountered in children are thumb sucking, finger biting, nail biting, lip biting, mouth breathing, tongue thrusting etc. If these habits are continued for a prolonged period of time that can result in gum disease, change in position of teeth and change in shape of the jaws. Habit breaking appliances are appliances made by a dentist to combat the above-mentioned habits in children. They can be either a fixed or removable type.

Root canal is the treatment in which the infected pulp is removed from the tooth and the space occupied by it is cleaned and filled with a special filling material. Even though the pulp has been removed from the inside of the tooth, the tooth is still embedded in a living jaw structure. The root canal tooth will not feel hot or cold. However the tooth would still retain normal sensation to touch or pressure.

A Crown is a cap like covering that is fitted over a tooth to restore its natural size and shape. A crown strengthens the tooth, protects the remaining tooth structure and can improve appearance. The tooth is trimmed so that the cap can be placed over the tooth like a hat on a head. The crown also forms an important unit of a fixed bridge, which is used for the replacement missing of teeth.

Dentures (also known as dental plates) can be defined as a set of artificial teeth, which are used when a person has lost his real teeth.

Full mouth reconstruction is the use of many methods of dentistry to create the correct relationship between gums, bone, muscles, and teeth. The mouth is a complex machine; without a proper bite, chewing can become impaired, teeth can become worn, the jaw and neck can become sore, and even migraines can occur.
